Chocolate cake seems to be the king of cakes, from the smooth Red Velvet, Lava, Fudge, German Chocolate and of course  Black Forest cake come to our minds of rich moist goodness.  It was years before I could even get a box cake mix that inevitably tasted of dry corn meal with buttercream frosting.   It would take even longer for me to come across the Gluten Free Girl. She opened up a world of edible foods that came fresh out of my oven. Substituting cardboard tasting foods for more delectable creations. using seasonings and flour combinations that excited my taste buds who were quite bored of all those years of steak, potatoes, and the obligatory side of veggies. Ho Hum... But her books were a revelation and my search expanded to scouring libraries, grocery stores, and meeting with nutritionists   Thumbing through Julia Child sites, rewatching her reruns trying out what I could with the limited foods out in the grocery world.  wondering how I could extend  Then not so long afterwards, I stumbled across this little TV show. The Great British Bake Off.
